The Eastern Visayas State University Burauen Campus celebrated the culmination of the month-long celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month with the theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan Patutunayan,” spearheaded by the GAD Coordinator, Prof. Anna Marie Alonzo.
The activity began with a message from Dr. Renato E. Martija, the Campus Director of EVSU-BC, who highlighted that women have a key role in shaping the community and that their strengths are the product of success stories of triumphs and challenges.

This was followed by the 1st keynote speaker, Ann Carla A. Ferrer, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer of Burauen, who shared her roller coaster experience as a woman in the field of geology. She shared her ups and downs in her journey and showed that every woman should remain strong and push for what their heart desires.

The 2nd keynote speaker, Dr. Carlota Raga, School Nurse of EVSU-BC, emphasized the responsibility of women in developing and molding a better society.

As the faculty and students celebrated the culmination program in festivity, they performed a dance number as they grooved to the music of the Unity Purple Hataw Dance. It was then followed by a series of games participated in by faculty and students to showcase their support for women empowerment.
May we always remember to honor the determination and resilience of women who have shaped our history and our lives.
