In commemoration of the 48th Foundation Anniversary of Eastern Visayas State University-Burauen Campus (EVSU-BC), the Culture and Arts Office, headed by Prof. Kyla E. Ramilo hosted the highly anticipated search for Mr. and Ms. EVSU-BC 2023, held at the Burauen Community Center in Burauen, Leyte.
Five candidates from five departments, including Agriculture Department, represented by Mr. Mickey Sencio and Ms. Naica Dorosa; Business Entrepreneurship and Management (BEM) Department, represented by Mr. Mark Angelo Epil and Ms. Charmene Magdoza; Education Department, represented by Mr. Jhondrix Colango and Ms. Rhea Mae Rebucas; Technology Department, represented by Mr. Ronaldo Jr Cabidog and Ms. Aiza Yu; and Information Technology (IT) Department, represented by Mr. Rjan Neil Solidor and Ms. Apple Quincy Mamitez, competed for the titles Mr. and Ms. EVSU-BC 2023.
The candidates displayed cultural festivity, university spirit, and EVSUnista grace and elegance through five exposures.
Moreover, this activity aims not only to highlight individuality but also to celebrate camaraderie and the preservation of culture and history.
Furthermore, the said event have successfully crowned Mr. Jhondrix Colango and Ms. Aiza Yu as the new Mr. and Ms. EVSU-BC 2023, who house the Education Department and Technology Department, respectively.
Ms. EVSU-BC 2023, Aiza Yu, expressed her excitement and commitment to making a positive impact.
“To be honest, winning the crown was beyond my wildest dreams, … I am excited to use this platform to make a positive impact, inspire others and contribute to meaningful causes,” she said.
On one hand, Jhondrix Colango, the crowned Mr. EVSU-BC 2023, conveyed his goal in securing the title.
“I will use my title to encourage people to pursue their passions and aspirations. I will keep in mind that I can significantly influence through God’s gift of talent to empower people’s lives for the better,” Mr. Colango said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rjan Neil Solidor and Ms. Rhea Mae Rebucas secured the 1st place, and Mr. Ronaldo Jr Cabidog and Ms. Charmene Magdoza hooked the 2nd place.
