After three days of extensive discussions to align institutional goals and strategies for the upcoming academic year, the 2025 Strategic Planning improves plans and priorities as Eastern Visayas State University-Burauen Campus (EVSU-BC) moves forward bannering excellence, held at Warren Farm and Resort, April 4.

Featured in the final day of the planning session is an in-depth discussion about crucial university processes. Prof. Vincent B. Cabantoc, JD, Head of the BAC Secretariat, opened the session by discussing the procurement paradigm and outlining the procurement process.

โ€œI will not say that this is the only correct process, but this is the result of years and years of implementing R.A. 9184,โ€ he shared, emphasizing the institutionโ€™s evolving approach to procurement.

Meanwhile, Prof. Lyka R. Comora, Head of the Planning and Development Office (PDO), led discussions on the finalization of the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS), Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR), Department Performance Commitment and Review (DPCR), and Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR).

Subsequently, academic and administrative heads presented their plans and programs of activities, outlining specific initiatives aimed at addressing pressing university challenges.

One of the most pressing concerns raised during the planning session was the lack of facilities, particularly classrooms and laboratories. Prof. Wenna Jo Mabansag, BEMD Faculty, emphasizes that the planning process provided much-needed clarity and direction on fund allocation, particularly for laboratory improvements and dormitory development.

โ€œWe all know that the university lack facilities, most especially the classrooms and laboratories so the strategic planning is very beneficial for this challenges of the campus that is facing right now, since nagkaroon na ng enlightenment as to the fund to be allocated for the laboratories most especially the dormitoryโ€ she explained.

Additionally, she noted that the event served as a platform to prioritize the needs of students, faculty, and the campus as a whole, ensuring that their concerns will be addressed in the universityโ€™s future plans.

Said event concluded with the awarding of certificates to the resource speakers, followed by a closing message from Ms. Angelou Capili, Head of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) highlighting the importance of collaboration and open communication within the university.

โ€œThank you for your active participation, for asking questions, and for seeking clarification. We encourage youโ€”if you have further inquiries, feel free to approach us. We are always here to assist,โ€ she concluded.
