Eastern Visayas State University–Burauen Campus (EVSU-BC) successfully conducted its two-day Campus Assessment and Operational Planning on January 26–27 at WRH Farm Resort, Brgy. Cagangon, Burauen, Leyte. The activity aimed to assess the campus’ previous year performance, identify key operational concerns, and guide strategic planning for the upcoming year, facilitated by the Institutional Planning and Development Office (IPDO).

Day 1 focused on reviewing previous year targets, conducting diagnostic analyses on factors affecting target attainment, and undertaking environmental scanning through SWOT analysis. Discussions also covered the identification of strategic issues and risk validation to support informed operational planning. The program formally opened with welcome remarks from Campus Director Dr. Erwin Oscar P. Ripalda, who emphasized professionalism, teamwork, and commitment in achieving campus goals. Engr. Roque A. Constiniano, Director of IPDO, presented the overview and rationale of the activity.

On Day 2, sessions centered on strategic direction recalibration, goal setting for the next planning cycle, review and resetting of key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategy and initiative alignment. The activity was graced by University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, together with selected Vice Presidents, as well as the Campus Administrator and faculty members from Dulag Campus. Prof. Lyka Comora, Head of the Planning and Development Office, presented a recap of the Day 1 discussions highlighting key findings and operational priorities.

In his inspirational message, University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz underscored the importance of collective responsibility and service to the university, emphasizing that all efforts should be directed toward the greater good of the EVSU community. The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation and tokens to the resource speakers and key university officials in recognition of their valuable contributions.
